And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4
We must train our children in righteousness. There are so many activities we can help our children excel in that are good and helpful in their developing into well rounded adults, but if we're not careful, we will train them for worldlyness instead of righteousness.

when they stumble and fall, don't write them off
tell them the truth when they are in sin
bear all things, hope all things and see all things
