Mini Lesson # 10

As we can see Rachel still has not given birth to any children and in Genesis 30:14 we find her pleading with her sister.  (She thought she had found Leah's secret for bearing children!)  What does Rachel want?

Just So You Will Know … Mandrakes, called the Love Apple,
were thought to have  aphrodisiac properties and  were used as an
aid in helping women conceive.

Leah's reaction gives us some insight into her true feelings toward her sister.  What does she say and what does this tell us about her feelings toward Rachel?  (Genesis 30:15)

Rachel bargains with Leah for her son's mandrakes.  What was the
reward?  (Genesis 30:15)

Having 'to bargain' for time with her husband brought home the fact that no matter how many children Leah had given Jacob, he still preferred Rachel and assumedly spent most of his time with her.  However, a bargain is a bargain and in Genesis 30:16 we find Leah going out to meet Jacob.   What does she say to him and what is his reaction?
